  At first I thought the Moors really were this short, but I've read about some fortresses in Saudi Arabia that have elevated trap doors, apparently a handy way to ensnare an intruder ...
  
  
  
  
  
  From our Italian tour guide: "The sultan was only allowed to have 4 wives, but he could have any number of female attendants -- servants, if you will, if he wanted the company.   The signature photograph from the palaces -- unfortunately they pulled up the roses because the roots were threatening the foundation.
